Massachusetts Maple
Producers Association

MMPA is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and promotion of maple sugaring in Massachusetts.
March is Massachusetts Maple Month

Each year, we celebrate the agricultural awakening of the Bay State by emphasizing the importance of maple production. "March is Massachusetts Maple Month" is a month-long celebration of "all things maple" in Massachusetts. Many local sugarhouses will be open for tours and pancake breakfasts.

A kickoff event at a host sugarhouse with the Commissioner of Agriculture participating in a ceremonial tree tapping begins each season, as newspapers and TV stations cover the month-long event.

The 2009 Maple Month kick-off event is at 10 AM Friday March 6th, at Gould’s Sugar House, located on Route 2, The Mohawk Trail, Shelburne, MA. Exit 26 off I-91, 7 miles west on Rte 2 from the Greenfield rotary. For more information, call Gould’s at 413-625-6170 or 413-625-6496, or email info@goulds-sugarhouse.com. Or contact the Mass Maple Association at info@massmaple.org.

The event is sponsored by the Massachusetts Maple Producers' Association in conjunction with the Massachusetts Department of Food and Agriculture.
